Timothy D. Norton II joined our firm in 2009 as a member of the labor & employment law, litigation, business and corporate law, and estate planning and administration practice groups.  He concentrates his legal practice in the area of employment law, with an emphasis on affirmative action programs.  Representing all types of industries Tim counsels businesses performing government contract work on regulatory compliance with the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).  He advises on affirmative action matters and preventative strategies. 

Tim is dedicated to counseling employers and litigation on matters of discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and workers’ unemployment compensation.  He routinely advises employers on employee discipline and termination, enforcement and implementation of employment policies, workplace investigations, and restrictive covenants. 

A graduate from George Mason University, Tim earned his B.S. degree in public administration.  In 2009, he completed his J.D. from Widener University School of Law, cum laude.  While attending law school, Tim was recognized as Most Promising Civil Litigator and was the recipient of the Outstanding Service Award by Widener University School of Law.  The Center for Forensic Economic Studies presented Tim with the Excellence in Litigation Award for 2009.

Tim is a member of the York County Bar Association and is active in the Young Lawyer Division. He is a member of the Herbert B. Cohen American Inns of Court. He serves his community and the state as a member of the Board of Directors on Child Care Consultants, Inc. He also is the Swim Coach for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Team In Training program.

At GMU, he was a Division I Athlete on the Men’s Swimming and Diving Team. He competed in the 2004 United States Open Swimming Championship where he placed 3rd in the 400 Individual medley. In his spare time, Tim enjoys running, swimming and spending time with his wife and daughter.
